Strange routing behaviour

Hi

I used your service for a route calculation:
http://maps.openrouteservice.org/directions?n1=45.773024&n2=21.300055&n3=16&a=45.775254,21.295667,45.781531,21.344547&b=0&c=0&k1=en-US&k2=km

I see this behaviour very often: The routing service takes a side-road somestime - which makes no sense. Anybody know why?

Thanks
Michael

Hi Michael,
i don’t know, but other strange things happening with this route!
Why ORS no respects the no_u_turn restriction at this point:

OSRM or GraphHopper are doing better job in this case:

OSRM: https://www.openstreetmap.org/directions?engine=fossgis_osrm_car&route=45.7753%2C21.2956%3B45.7813%2C21.3449#map=14/45.7759/21.3080

GraphHopper: https://www.openstreetmap.org/directions?engine=graphhopper_car&route=45.7753%2C21.2956%3B45.7813%2C21.3449#map=14/45.7757/21.3064

Have a nice weekend

Heinz

Thanks a lot

It seems that graphhopper makes a much better job. Is there a public website where i can use graphoper, which also allows GPX export?

Look at:

with gpx eport button

Have a good day
