Persistent Storage and Commercial Reuse of Directions API Route Geometry

Hello,

We are developing a commercial mobile application where users create and share fixed driving-practice routes.

When a user creates a course, we would like to call the openrouteservice Directions API once, obtain the returned route geometry, store that exact geometry permanently in our backend database, and reuse it whenever the course is displayed in the future.

The important point is that these route geometries would become persistent course data in our service, rather than temporary API results.

Could you please confirm whether the following use is permitted under the current openrouteservice Terms?

  • Permanent / indefinite storage of Directions API route geometry
  • Reuse of the stored geometry by multiple users of a commercial service
  • Displaying the geometry on a third-party map SDK such as Kakao Maps or NAVER Maps
  • Rendering preview images or vector previews from the stored geometry
  • Building a persistent database containing many user-created course geometries

We would provide the required openrouteservice / HeiGIT and OpenStreetMap attribution.

We would also appreciate clarification on whether storing a collection of exact route geometries creates any additional obligations under the OpenStreetMap ODbL or other applicable licenses.

Thank you.
