Matrix request on premise

Hello Community,

I would like to install openrouterserive by using the docker container on AWS since I want to use the matrix service.

My question is related to the duration. How is the duration retrieved since the whole information (in my understanding) is gonna be on my own server (on-premise)? is this updated in some sense, or does it always retrieve the same duration for two pairs of locations?

Hey,

all relevant information is contained in the OpenStreetMap .osm.pbf-file you’re going to be using for your instance of the openrouteservice.
Durations for routes between two points are determined by the lengths and types of roads linking these two points, as well as the travel profile.

As long as you do not update the .osm.pbf-file, you should always receive the same answer for the same request.
