There’s a menu (after clicking the dropdown button) at the top of the maps client where I can log in, but when I log in I’m taken back to the main ORS page. Is there some way to log into the maps client?

No. This is the regular login to the ors dev dashboard, where you can manage your API token, quota and the like.
This is not related to the maps client.
