Hello, everyone!
I have a quick question. If I enable “elevation: true” in the ors-config file for a localhost config via Docker compose, is that enough for the elevation to be taken into account when generating isochrones using the QGIS plugin?
Hey,
what do you mean by “taken into account”?
Elevation is currently not taken into account when calculating routes, but it is added as information to be able to display accurate height profiles.
Please check our configuration documentation on elevation for all other details.
Best regards
Hey, thank you for your response.
This topic is relatively new to me, so I’ll try to clarify what I mean by ‘taken into account.’ When calculating pedestrian routes, I assume that steepness may influence travel time. Is there a way to account for these variations in terrain so that they impact travel time?
Hey,
as stated, they are currently not influencing travel time, and there is currently no way to do so.
While planned, this is not a high priority topic, but I’d expect it to happen in the not too distant future
Best regards
Alright. I appreciate your attention
