Openrouteservice availability - 429

Hi everyone,

We are using the OpenRouteService APIs for isochrone calculations in our application, but we occasionally encounter service unavailability or receive 429 Too Many Requests errors.

I created an account on the forum to stay informed, but I would like to know if there is an official way to be notified of service outages, incidents, or rate‑limit issues (for example: status page, RSS feed, email alerts, or webhook).

Could you please tell me what the recommended method is to receive notifications about OpenRouteService downtime or degraded performance?

Thanks in advance!

Hey,

first, please notice that a 429 Too Many Requests response is an indication of the openrouteservice functioning as expected.

The plans page, available on the bottom of your dashboard has an overview of the available minutely and daily quota for your API key.

If you run into a 429 Too Many Requests error, this means that you are hitting the minutely quota limit.
See our FAQ on quota resets for more details on this.

Apart from that, we announce regular maintenance and update about outages in the following category on this forum:

You can also find the current API status at status.openrouteservice.org.

Best regards
